Christmas at Cedar Ridge Creative Centre

Once again, I'm looking forward to participating in Christmas at Cedar Ridge Art Show & Sale - Nov. 14, 2010, 12 noon to 5 p.m. Fine art by CR members will be on exhibit from Nov. 7th to Nov. 18th in the main floor galleries.

There is always a great array of arts and crafts, not to mention the fabulous tea room and all those zero calorie cookies ... well perhaps not exactly zero calorie ... but irresistible treats! Great way to do your Christmas shopping - unique, handmade crafts, fine art photography, paintings, jewellery, wood craft, textile, pottery, etc.

This is Cedar Ridge's annual fundraiser, so bring your family, friends, co-workers, doctor, lawyer, veterinarian - everyone you can think of!

Showcase May 23 on Etsy

On Sunday, May 23, my photography will be included in the Main Showcase on Etsy.com and I hope you are able to drop by. If you miss the showcase, not to worry. My shop name is skybird111 if you search under Sellers. Or, you can go to www.skybird111.etsy.com.

I am trying to raise money for a local horse rescue organization - a very devoted bunch of folks who spend their time and money in providing shelter and food and lots of love for these less fortunate equines. There are so many organizations and causes throughout the world - I guess it's never enough really - there is so much need on all sides of the coin. However, if one person helps, that's wonderful! If many people help, that's fantastic!

Reminiscent of the little boy tossing starfish back into the ocean, knowing they would perish lying on the sand if they were unable to reach the water. His father said the little guy's efforts wouldn't help, since there were thousands of beached starfish on the shore. However, with all his young wisdom and optimism, holding a starfish in his hand, replied as he tossed it into the water ... "Well, it will make a difference to this one." Great story and so true.

Welcome to my first blog!

My apologies if my blogspot doesn't look too exciting - I'm still trying to figure out blogging-type features! I recently opened an Etsy shop featuring my photography - www.skybird111.etsy.com. It seems that blogging is one way of networking one's shop, hence this giant leap into cyberspace!
